The Agarwood Research Laboratory (AWRL) operates under the Bangladesh Forest Research Institute (BFRI), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. We are dedicated to developing and disseminating improved inoculation and cultivation techniques for Aquilaria species.
Our work supports sustainable forest management, enhances farmer livelihoods, and preserves one of nature's most precious aromatic resources.
Our multidisciplinary team investigates every stage of agarwood development, from tree physiology to market-ready resin production.
Developing novel biological and chemical inoculation methods to maximise resin (agar) yield in whole-tree systems.
